I completely agree with everything this woman says. This is exactly why I do not like porn. It is exploitative and degrading to women. There is a generation of men that are growing up with sexual disfunction in their 20’s, unable to perform in a real sexual context because the heightened and unrealistic visual imagery of pornography cannot be recreated in the bedroom and they have in effect become desensitized to real life sex. More and more young people are viewing what is portrayed in pornography as normal sex, which is sex in which there is no intimacy, sex in which only the only things making physical contact are the genitals, sex done as a performance for maximum viewing pleasure, and sex in which the woman’s pleasure is almost always negated. I’m not even touching on the industry that pornography supports, such as prostitution, sex slavery and child exploitation. But if you think that watching pornography is harmless and that everyone in it is a willing participant, you are sticking your head in the sand and lying to yourself. That we live in a world where something that was once considered shameful and viewed only in the most private arenas could now be viewed openly in public with no regard for anyone else says a lot about where we have come to as a society. I know that this will be an unpopular opinion. But I’m saying it anyway.So apparently 96.2% of youtube viewers that have voted on this video, and 100% of Tumblr users that have reblogged it, think that this woman is an idiot. Because she has incredibly conservative views regarding pornography, they’re dismissing an experience that she had on an airplane in which the man in front of her looked at child porn (or at least “jail-bait” themed porn) on his iPad in clear view of other passengers during a flight.
In reality the man was committing (AT LEAST) a summary offence but I would consider her to be a victim of sexual abuse, regardless of what you think of her views.
The people reblogging this and trying to be cool by saying shit about how okay they are with pornography are fucking idiots.
I can’t even imagine how I’d respond if I witnessed somebody viewing porn in public, aside from trying to shame them into stopping (which I definitely would) I imagine that some kind of conflict would be unnavoidable.
What this woman went through is disgusting.
How are you fuckwits not capable of recognizing that?
